The National Treasury launched the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) in all forty-seven(47) counties in Kenya. IFMIS is an electronic procurement system (e-procurement) aimed at enhancing accountability and transparency on issues relating to public procurement. This text will guide you on how to register on IFMIS as a Supplier.

Suppliers create accounts on IFMIS to apply for government tenders, source or track payments and do other procurement processes. County governments place adverts on available tenders on the IFMIS portal for suppliers and individuals to see.

Requirements to Register on IFMIS

  1. Applicant’s First and last Name
  2. Company’s Phone Number
  3. Company’s Email Address
  4. Company or Business Registration Number for Companies and Sole Proprietors
  5. KRA PIN for the company or individual
  6. Businesses must be linked to eCitizen portal.

How do I register as a supplier on IFMIS?

1. Open your browser and navigate to the IFMS portal.

2. Click on the “Supplier Self-Registration” button on the left side of your screen.

3. Select the “Supplier Self-Registration” button on the left side of your screen.

4. You will then be referred to the ‘Prospective Supplier registration‘ form.

5. Start by filling in details about your company i.e Company or Business Registration Number, Tax Country, and Personal Identification Number. To proceed click on “Validate Details.” The company name will appear on the top of your screen when all the registered details are correct. If you do not see the company name, revisit the information that you filled in earlier. Once you check that the details are correct but you still get the same error, first ensure that your business is linked on the eCitizen portal.

6. If all is well, go ahead and enter your email address (personal or company email address), Contact’s First name, Last name, phone area code, correct phone number, and phone extension under the contact information option.

7. Once you are done filling in all the required contact information, click on “Continue” and wait for the feedback message. After submitting the form, you will receive an email with your username and password and the status of approval. You can use the username and your unique password to log in to the Kenya Supplier portal and to also bid for open tenders.
