4. A registration fee of Kshs.200 will be required for online service request

5. Once your order has been processed and done, your new KRA Pin Certificate together with your iTax Login credentials (your iTax password) will be sent to your Email Address so as to enable you to log in to your KRA iTax Account.

1. Visit the KRA iTax portal to initiate the process.

2. Under “New PIN Registration” click on “Click Here“.

3. On the new page for Taxpayer type, select “Non-Individual and in the mode of registration section select “Online Form”. Click Next.

4. On the next page you will be presented with a lengthy e-Registration form for Non-Individuals. Brace yourself and fill in all the required sections under basic information, obligation details, Director of Associate details, and Agent details.

5. Remember to attach the required documents then click on Submit button.

Quick Note: You will not be issued with a pin instantly after submitting. What you will get is an acknowledgment receipt which you can download and print. The pin and password are sent to your email after approval.

How to Apply for KRA Pin as a Foreigner

Before we dive into the step-by-step guide on how to apply for a KRA pin as a foreigner, you need to ensure that. you have the listed requirements;

  1. Alien ID Card details.
  2. If employed, the employer’s PIN details
  3. Business Registration Certificate details for those in business

Now that you are all set, let us start the application process;

  1. Go to the KRA iTax website.
  2. On the option “Register” Click on the area indicated by the arrow to register.
  3. Here you will be prompted to indicate whether you are applying for the PIN as an individual or a company, selected the “Individual” option
  4. You will also be asked to indicate whether you want to use an online form or be allowed to download a form that you can fill out manually and upload later, select the “Online Form” option as your mode of registration.
  5. Indicate if you want to register for “Digital Service Tax”.
  6. Indicate whether one is a Kenyan, non-Kenyan resident, or non-Kenyan non-resident, and select the “Non-Kenyan Resident”.
  7. Enter your Alien identification number, the iTax system seems to be linked to the national i.d database
  8. After filling in all the basic details required
  9. Fill in the next form which is tax obligation details.
  10. Indicate the Registration date which is basically the date when you make the registration.
  11. If employed or have any other income you are expected to choose the Yes option, enter the details of company directors or partners
  12. Being an individual one is not expected to fill out the Agent details so just leave it blank.
  13. Enter the result of the arithmetic sum provided and submit
  14. You will promptly receive your PIN number with an option to download a PDF version of the same. Ensure to provide the correct email address because this is where they will send the login credentials that will enable you to access the iTax system and submit your returns.
