How to Create a Wave Account in Uganda?

There are two ways to create a Wave account; self-register via the Wave app or visit the nearest Wave agent in your area.

If you have a smartphone;

  1. Download and install the Wave app on your device from either Google Play Store or App Store.
  2. Enter your mobile number.
  3. Then key in the secret code that was sent via SMS on the registered number.
  4. You will then be prompted to enter your full names, by doing so you will have accepted the terms and conditions of using the Wave app.
  5. Next, you will have to create your wave log-in pin. Enter and confirm your new pin. and just like that you will have created your wave account.

If you have a feature phone;

  1. Visit the nearest wave agent with your identity card.
  2. Request for Wave account opening.
  3. Share the required details with the agent as prompted.
  4. After successful registration, the agent will give you a Wave card which you will use for Wave transactions.

How to Withdraw Money from the Wave App

1. Visit the Nearest Wave agent in your area. Click here.

2. Request the Wave agent to guide you through the withdrawal process.

3. The agent will inquire about the amount you want to withdraw. If he/she has enough float, the withdrawal transaction process will commence.

4. Present your Wave card for scanning or log in to your wave app.

5. After scanning the QR code on the wave card or wave app, the agent will finalize the process and give the customer cash equivalent to the withdrawn money. DONE!
