This article guides you on how to reset the GOTV parental control pin. Parental control is a measure taken to stop children from watching certain stations on a particular Gotv package. If the parental control is activated, children will only have access to channels rated 13 or below, 16 or below, and 18 or below according to adults’ preferences. The other channels will be locked, to unlock them, you will need a pin. What happens if you forget the pin? All you need t do is to reset your decoder.

GOtv Default Parental Control Pin
The GOTV default parental Control pin is 1234.
Change GOtv Parental Control Pin
1. Press the Green GOTV button or Menu button on the remote.
2. Scroll down and select Parental Control then press OK.
3. Enter your parental PIN then press OK to confirm. The GOtv Parental Control default pin is 1234.
4. Select option 4, Change Pin.
5. Enter your new pin and press OK (4digits).
6. Confirm your new pin and press Ok (4 digits).
7. You will immediately receive a notification confirming the successful change of pin.

Reset GOtv Parental Control Pin
If you have forgotten your Parental Control Pin, try inserting the default pin. If the default pin fails, you will need to reset you GOTV decoder.
1. Press the Green GOTV button or Menu button on the remote.
2. Choose “Advanced Options”.
3. Select the “Installation” option.
4. Scroll down and choose the third option which is “RESET”
5. A notification that says “ All current Channels and Settings will be lost” will pop up on your TV screen. Press the OK button on your remote to proceed with resetting your GOTV.
6. The decoder will go off for a few seconds then the “boot in progress, please wait” notification will appear on your screen. A few seconds later, the decoder will get back on again
7. Press OK on your remote agreeing to First Time Installations. Save the display language as English by pressing OK. Select the “User Country” and press OK. Press Ok for the Antenna power-off notification.
8. Your GOTV will start Automatic Scanning to search for networks. Be patient until the scan is complete. This might take between 3 to 5 minutes depending on signal power levels. As soon as the scanning is complete, the GOTV channel will show on your screen. Now that you have reset all GOTV settings, you will need to set the Parental Control settings again.
9. Press the Green GOTV button or Menu button on the remote.
10. Scroll down and select Parental Control then press OK.
11. Enter your parental PIN then press OK to confirm. The GOtv Parental Control default pin is 1234.
12. Select option 4, Change Pin.
13. Enter your new pin and press OK.
14. Confirm your new pin and press Ok.
15. You will immediately receive a notification confirming the successful change of pin.
