How Does Ensibuuko Crop Insurance Work?

Ensibuuko offers crop insurance services against weather conditions on behalf of the Agricultural Consortium which is made up of 11 licensed insurance companies.

All Ensibuuko activities like signing up, payments, and compensations are digitalized. No documentation is needed.

Farmers receive compensation of up to UGX 290,000 for every acre in a given season depending on crop loss due to drought or heavy rains.

The insurance policy is available for both cash and food crops that yield in four months. However, if the crop matures after two seasons, then the farmer will need to pay insurance twice to compensate for both seasons.

Farmers are compensated between 14 to 30 days after the season has ended.
