    We have all been there, and done that (unless it’s your first-time using Gmail) when you’re informed that your Gmail storage is full! You have used up most or all of your Google account storage and now you have a warning on your account.

    Well, please fret not, because we’re going to help you solve this issue in one way or the other. Before we go to the free solutions, you need to know that if your Gmail storage is full, you can always purchase more storage to compensate for your full 15GB space. To buy additional storage you will need to select the amount of storage you want and add your credit card details to make the purchase. However, if that’s costly for you or you have credit card issues, here are three methods to regain free storage on Gmail.

    Method 1: Delete Heavy Files To Clear Full Gmail Storage

    Head over to Google Drive Quota.

    Log in to your Gmail account or skip this if you’re already logged in.

    In the new interface, there’s a list of all your files in descending order, according to size.

    Select files you do not need anymore and delete those permanently.

    Method 2: Delete Heavy Mails To Clear Full Gmail Storage

    Go to Gmail.com on any of your devices.

    Now, log in to your Google account or skip this if you’re logged in.

    Hit the Search bar and type “has:attachment larger:10M” then punch enter button

    This query will bring up all emails with attachments of over 10MB in size.

    Now, select emails you do not need and tap on the delete button.

    Head over to the Trash section now.

    Tap the empty trash button to free up space in your account.

    To gain more space, go to the Spam folder from the left navigation bar.

    Now click on the ‘Delete all spam messages now, and then confirm.

    Method 3: Optimize Google Photos To Clear Full Gmail Storage

    On your PC or any device, visit Google Photos settings

    Log in to your Google account or skip this step if you already logged in.

    Now, change the upload quality from Original to High Quality.

    Google will ask you if you want to recover your storage

    Accept this and it will convert your earlier uploads to High Quality and help you save up on space.

    This is because, images and videos stored in Google Photos in the ‘High Quality’ setting, do not eat up your cloud storage.
