Requirements Needed to Acquire Airtel eSIM
- Compatible device: You need to have a device that supports eSIM functionality. Most modern smartphones and tablets support eSIM. You can check with your device manufacturer or retailer to confirm if your device is eSIM compatible.
- Valid Identification: To acquire an Airtel eSIM, you need to have a valid form of identification such as a passport, national ID card, or driver’s license. You will need to present this ID when you visit an Airtel Store to acquire the eSIM.
- Existing Airtel Mobile Number (physical SIM Card): You must have an existing Airtel mobile number to acquire an Airtel eSIM. The eSIM will be linked to your existing mobile number, and you will be able to use the same mobile number on multiple devices.
- QR code: You will need a QR code. The activation code will be used to activate the eSIM on your device.
Airtel eSIM Price in Uganda
Airtel eSIM is available to customers at no extra cost. This means that there are no additional fees or charges associated with acquiring an Airtel eSIM. Unlike physical SIM cards, which may incur costs such as replacement fees, the Airtel eSIM can be acquired for free at any Airtel store in Uganda.
How to Get Airtel eSIM in Uganda
Now that you have all the needed requirements to swap your physical Airtel SIM card for the Airtel eSIM, follow the steps below to achieve your goal;
Check device compatibility
Before getting an Airtel eSIM, it’s essential to ensure that your device supports eSIM. Most modern smartphones and devices support eSIM, but it’s important to confirm this with your device manufacturer or retailer or by failing *#06# on your mobile- if your device is compatible, it will show an EID number.
Visit an Airtel Store
Once you’ve confirmed that your device supports eSIM, the next step is to visit the nearest Airtel Store in your area. You will need to carry your device and a valid form of identification, such as a passport, national ID card, or driver’s license.
Provide your details
Once you arrive at the Airtel Store, you will be required to fill out an eSIM swap form providing your details. This includes your name, phone number, email address, last mobile money transaction, last airtime recharge, and frequently failed numbers.
After providing your details, the Airtel Store representative will activate your eSIM. This process may take a few minutes, and you may need to restart your device for the eSIM to start working. That’s it!
