The Standard Chartered fixed deposit account is an account where a customer’s deposits are fixed at an attractive interest rate for an agreed period, with no withdrawals before the period elapses. There are two ways you can create a fixed deposit account, you can either visit the nearest Standard Chartered bank or use the Standard Chartered mobile app if you are registered for SC mobile services. The procedures in this article show you how to create a fixed deposit account with Standard Chartered bank online in Uganda.
Terms of Fixed Accounts
- You can choose to fix the account for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months.
- The interest depends on the period and principal.
- The interest income will be forfeited for cash withdrawals made before the maturity period.
- The account holder can choose to withdraw the money anytime but they will not earn the interest.

How to Create a Fixed Deposit Account with a Standard Chartered Bank Online
Follow the steps listed below to create a fixed deposit account with SC bank online;
1. Do you have the SC mobile app? If the answer is yes proceed to the next step and if the answer is ‘NO’ download and install the SC Mobile App from Google Play Store for Androids and App Store for IOS.
2. After the download is complete, open the SC Mobile App on your device.
3. Click the Login button then log in to your SC Mobile app with your username and password.
4. Tap on the “Service Requests” option under the main menu bar.
5. Then select Account Management under the Service Request icon.

6. Click on “Fixed Deposit Creation”.

7. Enter all your details as required to proceed.
8. Select the period for the fixed deposit.

9. Review and Confirm your details.
10. Input the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your mobile number and submit.
11. Your request will be submitted and you will be notified of the status.
