While in search of any temporary accommodation, Airbnb should be your run to portal. Airbnb is a middleman between hosts (space owners) and guests in finding both comfortable and affordable spaces to stay…usually temporary.

Initially, Airbnb was called Airbed and breakfast (Air mattress and breakfast). This probably did not sit well with the developers who figured much more could be provided by the hosts to make their guests’ stay more worthwhile outside their initial plans. And being a fast world, where change becomes inevitable every day under the sun, the name was changed to Airbnb (must agree it’s easier to mention)

The hosts professionally register the spaces available, list out the type of accommodation, provide pictures and descriptions of the type of space, and set out house rules and requirements and booking preferences for the guests. The host can also offer discounts for the first guests (of course as a market strategy). The host also further decides whether the place can be instantly booked or on request. This, therefore, calls for keenness from the guest when booking to avoid any inconvenience. Lastly, the host is supposed to be available to reply to any queries or inquiries from the guests and so, their phones and/or computers should be accessible at all times.

For the guests – usually tourists, people on vacations, or those tired of their homes and seeking different space, all they need asides from a good internet connection is their money and an idea of what exactly they want and when they want it. They can then access Airbnb through an app or the website, in which they search for a specific geographical area and view the results of different homes that will be displayed. To save time, filtering and listing out of all the amenities one would want is recommended so that the only display is of exactly what one is looking for. And if you thought it couldn’t get any simpler, you can further let them know your budget so you work within that and are also able to interact with the host without exchange of contacts before booking is done. The hosts usually check in the guests, show them around, provide essential contacts and everything to make them feel more at home and all payments are made electronically or online.

As a guest, please be cautious about the rules, cancelation fees, and several people using the space to avoid any inconvenience during your vacation and you’ll certainly enjoy your Airbnb experience.
