Serial number

Even when buying a new iPhone. It is important to check if it has a serial number. From an iPhone’s serial number, you can get more information about your apple product. If an iPhone doesn’t have a serial number it means it is not in the Apple Database and therefore not recognized as an Apple handset.

To check for the serial number, simply dial *#06# or go to Settings > General > About.

Battery Health

The main reason as to why people get rid of their iPhones is because their battery health is depleted. That’s why as low-income earners looking to purchase a used iPhone, you need to check its battery health and avoid the hustle that comes with a weak iPhone battery. Good battery health levels are within the range of 80% to 100%

To check for battery health, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

Make sure it is not stolen

The last thing you want is to pay for a stolen iPhone. Not only does it make you an accomplice to crime but you are bound to find problems using the device. Apple prevents the use of stolen iPhones using its Activation Lock feature which is automatically turned on when Find My iPhone is activated.

You as a buyer of a stolen iPhone will only find out that it is Activation Locked when you cannot unlock its iCloud.

Scratches on the camera and screen

Scratches on the camera mean that the phone will produce poor quality pictures even if the lens is good. Given that one of the most admirable features of the iPhone is the good quality camera, it is wise to avoid a phone with scratches on the camera.

Scratches on the screen make an iPhone drop in value since it no longer looks as appealing as when its new.
