So that got me thinking about how to shorten a long URL and I managed to get answers.
Ever since Google URA shortener closed its doors, several websites have come out to rejuvenate the effect it created. As per se, there are a variety of options to help you shorten your links, and some of these platforms go the extra mile to provide additional tools that bookmark links, create customized domains for your links, and help you track or analyze the details of your links. The Tiny URL website is a unique URL shortener that is completely free with no subscription versions and is easy to use. To get started, you can choose to sign in or shorten the link without signing in.
1. First copy the URL you want to shorten.
2. Launch TinyURL in your preferred web browser.
3. Paste the URL into the “Enter a long URL to make tiny” field.
4. The custom alias field helps you to include a specific phrase in your shortened alias. The field is optional, you can leave it blank.
5. Tap on the “Make TinyURL!”
6. The shortened URL will be displayed on the next page. Now click “Copy to clipboard” to use the URL.
Bitly
Bitly allows you to customize your link with a particular domain, create a short URL and track it. You can use Bitly services for free or subscribe to Bitly’s premium service starting at $29 per month.
1. First things first, copy the URL that you want to shorten.
2. Go to bitly.com
3. Click on Sign up for free then scroll down and tap on Get started for free.
4. Sign up with Google or with your Email.
5. Tap on “Create Link” then paste the link in the shorten your link field and click shorten.
6. Copy the new URL.
Short URL
ShortURL.at is a free tool that helps you shorten your long URL instantly. However, it also has a Premium version if you are totally up for it. What makes this particular platform unique is that it allows you to share URLs with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Tumblr
1. Copy the URL that you want to shorten.
2. Go to Short URL.
3. Paste the URL that you want to be shortened and then click “Shorten URL.”
4. On the next page, the long URL will be shortened. Now, copy the shortened URL and share it with friends.
