MTN Uganda has recently introduced the All-net voice bundles to their extensive range of voice bundle offerings. Previously, we were familiar with the On-net voice bundles, and whenever we were required to make calls outside the network, we would recharge airtime, which often depleted even before we could state the purpose of the call. Despite the availability of all-net voice bundles, there are MTN subscribers who still haven’t grasped the concept. Hence, this guide aims to elucidate the distinctions and resemblances between MTN’s On-Net voice bundles and the new MTN All-Net voice bundles, aiding you in determining the most suitable package for your needs.

On-Net: This voice bundles limits you to only the same network calls (MTN to MTN).

1. Flexibility & Network Versatility

MTN On-Net voice bundles are designed to offer cost-effective communication within the MTN network. These bundles are ideal for individuals who predominantly communicate with friends, family, or colleagues using MTN lines. On the other hand, MTN All-Net voice bundles are designed for individuals who communicate with a diverse range of contacts across various networks. These voice bundles provide a comprehensive solution for your communication needs, regardless of the recipient’s network. This means you call make a call to your Airtel, Uganda Telecom, and Lycamobile contacts using the same voice bundle without an airtime charge. With the former (MTN All-Net), one voice bundle accounts for everything, and the latter (MTN On-Net) limits you to the MTN network.

2. Cost Efficiency

It is rather unexpected that the expenses and volume bundles associated with both the On-Net and All-Net Voice Bundles exhibit a remarkable degree of similarity. These two bundles not only offer similar cost structures but also come with identical validity periods. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the parity between these voice bundle packages, a detailed comparative analysis follows below:

Quick Note: All-Net voice bundles are packaged in only two validity groups; the Daily voice bundles that expire in 24 hours and Forever voice bundles that do not possess any validity tag on them. If you are a huge subscriber of the monthly voice bundles, you can alternate to the forever bundles instead- I guarantee that the voice bundle volumes are literally similar.

Which Voice Bundle Should You Subscribe to?

Choosing between MTN On-Net and MTN All-Net voice bundles boils down to your communication habits and needs. However, we shall all admit that our contacts are spread across different networks and you won’t know when the need arises to make a call across a network. Gladly the tables above stress out the comparisons. There is no doubt that All-net voice bundles are slightly more expensive than On-Net voice bundles. That being known, you should also remember that the former has a big advantage (limitless to networks) over the latter which is limited to MTN contacts only.

Back to you again, the ball is in your hands now. If you primarily communicate within the MTN network and want to save on call costs, the On-Net bundles are a great option. On the other hand, if your contacts are spread across different networks and you value the flexibility of seamless communication, All-Net bundles are the way to go.

Personal Review:

I opted for the all-net forever bundle, and it has truly been a lifesaver. In the past, I had to load separate voice bundles for my Airtel and MTN lines. This meant that whenever I received a call from MTN, I had to use up my MTN minutes, and for calls from Airtel, I tapped into my Airtel minutes. This approach was quite expensive, and there were instances when I couldn’t fully utilize my voice bundles before they expired.

But now, thanks to the MTN all-net forever voice bundle, I have the incredible convenience of making calls across all networks without constantly worrying about the bundle’s expiration date. What’s even more satisfying is that people perceive me as well-off (“Ndi Muloddi” or “Rich”) when they see my MTN number appear on their Airtel line.
