The first time I heard of steemit was through a youtube sponsored ad and trust me, I was puzzled to check it out the following day. I wanted to know how steemit works and how I could make money with it. How to join steemit .
Joining steemit is not by far the hardest step compared to other existing money making platforms. In fact, I decided to document this process in my blog post below to enable you to try it out as well.
Step one:
You’ll head to steemit official web page and select sign up from the top right-hand corner. The signup page will require you to enter a username of your choice and once it’s available, you can select continue.
Step Two :
The next step allows you to enter your email and continue.

Here you’ll be required to enter your phone number for verification.
After your phone verification process, your account is put on a pending list waiting for approval which normally takes 7 working days. I must sincerely say mine took close to three weeks to get approved. However, what matters at the end of the day is whether you get in.

After 3 weeks, I received an email in my inbox from steemit welcoming me to the platform. So I thought this was the right opportunity to have a glimpse into what I had been hearing about from friends for quite a long time. This is how I got started on Steemit step by step.
Step one :
You have to click on the link provided in your steemit email. This link will guide you to a steemit page where you’ll be required to enter your Username. Something to note, after signing up with steemit, don’t hesitate to forget your username. In fact, noting it down is a better option.
Step Two :
Steemit allows you to use a password generated by them. Make sure you save the password generated somewhere you can easily access it but secure.
Step three :
In this step, Steemit will require you to confirm your password which is the password you generated and saved in step two.

Congratulations welcome to steemit, it’s time to make money off steemit by posting & commenting.
How to Make Money on Steemit?
This is the first question many new users ask themselves when they join this platform.
You can make money on Steemit by contributing quality blog posts, but also upvoting and commenting on posts. When you write blog posts you get a reward as an author, and when you comment and upvote, you earn a reward as a Curator.
Besides writing, you can also earn just by participating without writing blog posts.
