Every now and then you need to deep clean and get rid of anything that might slow down, and take up storage space on your Android TV. Most of the time, the Android TV is connected to the internet which makes it prone to cached data. In simple terms, cached data is information stored on your Android TV after you have visited a website. Although developers use cached data to ease your experience the next time you decide to visit their website, cache data scoops storage space and might make the Tv screen bluffer a bit when you are streaming your favorite show. I know you would not want that. Right?
The more accumulated cache data, the more your Android TV will be affected. If you are looking forward to increasing TV performance and clearing storage space, then you should consider deleting cache data on your Android TV.
Step1: Go to the Android TV Settings
First of all, you need to launch the home page on your Android TV. To do so press the home button on your Android TV supplied remote. Select the Settings app (gear icon) using the movement keys on your remote and press ‘OK’.
Step 2: Select Device Preferences
Under the Android TV General Settings, select the Device Preference option. A new page will pop up, showing all options under the device preference settings.

Step 3: Select Storage
Select Storage from the ‘Device Preference’ menu and press OK on your remote. Next, select ‘Internal Shared Storage’. Another window will pop up showing storage distribution per category. The entire subsection will showcase how internal storage capacity is shared in Gigabytes or megabytes per category like apps, photos&videos, audio, downloads, cached data, Misc, and the available space.
Step 4: Select Cached Data
Finally, scroll down and select ‘Cached data’ from the list. A new window will pop up prompting you to confirm if you want to clear cached data. Select ‘OK on your screen and press ‘OK’ on your remote.
