Walmart In Uganda

The good news is, Walmart now is in Uganda, and recently it took over the South African supermarket giant, Game. From the bottom line of this deal, Game had to retain its name.

Nevertheless, Walmart is preparing to take full charge of operations Massmart was holding. More to that, the takeover will only affect ownership but will have nothing to do with the brand and the store operations.

Massmart becomes the first business base for the worlds biggest retailer in Africa, with operations in a number of global markets including America, Asia, and Europe. The acquisition that is estimated at $2.4 billion is expected to improve Game’s operations across Africa with a boost in branch network and employee numbers.

Game, which started in 2004, in Uganda has operations in 11 African countries including: South Africa, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.

Apart from the recent launch in Uganda, Many Ugandan Walmart shoppers have been able to receive all their goods ordered online from Walmart.

These claim that the shipping rates and packaging of Walmart goods have always been cheaper than all other companies in E-commerce business. They come with several offers such as holiday offers, Black fridays, and more.
