One of the significant issues smartphones have is battery drainageData usage, bright screens, and heated-up batteries bring about this issue. Some smartphone users use power banks to keep the phone on, others work with direct power from the socket while most trust their technology—battery-saving apps.

Battery-saving apps are the saviors of smartphones. They are conservation apps. They do away with superfluous tasks slowing down the phone. Abhinav Pathak, a Ph.D. student candidate in the computer engineering department at Purdue University, worked with a team of researchers who tracked smartphone energy expenditures.

Pathak compares a smartphone to a house; battery-saving apps turn off the lights when no one’s home and the furnace when it’s hot outside. These applications can’t detect issues with other apps that use far more energy than they should. If your GPS device fails to shut off even after you turned off the slider, then your phone is surging with a lot of power.

To find an app that’s compatible with your phone, first, read reviews for apps that work best with your phone. Remember, it is not only these apps that save your battery. You must be smart when engaging with your gadget. Like keeping your phone’s Bluetooth and Wi-Fi off- they constantly search signals and drain battery power. Manage the push notifications on your phone, dim the phone’s screen, and many others.

Meanwhile, some phones are integrated with power-saving modes. Some even have the features of power/ battery-saving apps such as recycle bin, optimization, cleaning memory, extended battery life, power-saving mode, and device protection. These features play a major role in conserving battery.

Recycle bin- it is obvious what it does. Optimization- detects high battery usage, app crashes, malware apps, and closes background apps. Cleaning memory- frees up memory by stopping background apps. Device protection- scans the phone for any malware or suspicious activity.

While the apps are great for the phone, you mustn’t get them just from anywhere, especially those advertised in another app. They keep popping up. Don’t dare to tap them. Such apps have malware and in most cases steal personal information. Tread lightly.
