  • Schedule Routine: Some routines are scheduled to a specific time of day, day of the week, or the particular month with options to repeat on more days of the week. For instance, if you are away on vacation, Alexa will still switch on and off security lights as scheduled.
  • Location Routine: For this category, actions will be triggered when you leave or arrive at a particular address. For instance, when you go to the gym or visit a library.
  • Alarms Routine: You can make specific actions be triggered (like traffic update) when you dismiss a clock alarm.
  • Sound Detection Routine: You can set a routine to trigger when Alexa detects a sound; like coughs, barks, snoring, crying babies, or beeping appliances.

Step 8: Select Add Action and choose what you want Alexa to do for this routine. You can select multiple actions for a particular routine.

Step 9: Choose a device that controls the routine.
