To solve this problem, allow your network to automatically handle the date and time. This can be done in the date and time settings on Android or iOS.

b) Secondly, update the YouTube app

Every app should always be up to date such that you get to enjoy the latest features and bug fixes.

On Android, open Google Play store > touch your profile icon and select Manage apps and devices. Then tap pending updates and if YouTube is there, touch to update it.

On iOS, open the app store and touch the updates tab. If you see YouTube in this list, touch to update.

c) Thirdly, do an Operating Systems update

When the Operating Sytem is outdated, it could affect the functionality of some apps, including YouTube.

To update your Operating System on Android, open Settings and search Software update (either Upgrade system.) It could be inside a About of the phone section. When you see a new version is available, download and install it.

On iOS, go to Settings > General > Software update and download and install an update if one is available.

d) Lastly, clear cache and data

Using YouTube for some time might lead to a large amount of cache and data collected which could be the issue.

To fix this on Android, go to Settings > Applications > YouTube > Storage. Clear cache and see if it fixes the problem. If not, come back here and Delete data.

On iOS, the best way to do this is to uninstall and reinstall YouTube. Press and hold the app on your home screen and touch Erase. Then head over to the App Store and download YouTube again.
