Secure Folder Samsung is where you can save private photos, videos, files, programs, and data. It’s an encrypted environment that uses the defense-grade Samsung Knox security technology to keep your sensitive data safe from unwanted intrusions. You can also add an extra biometric lock (Iris and Fingerprint), pattern, password, or PIN to keep it safe from prying eyes.
One intriguing feature of Secure Folder is the ability to have a copy of an existing app on your phone. This app will not have any of your current data, cache, or logins, thus it is effectively a new installation of the app. You may also add new apps from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store to install them.

Enabling the Secure Folder on Samsung Device (Steps)
Check to see if your device is compatible before attempting to enable the Secure Folder. The functionality is only available on Samsung Galaxy Knox-enabled phones running Android 7.0 Nougat or above. You must first create a Samsung Account before you can set up your Secure Folder.
On some Samsung Galaxies, the Secure Folder app is pre-installed. Drag the notification icons list down and look for Secure Folder to see whether you have it installed. If your phone lacks the Secure Folder app, you can get it from the Play Store or the Galaxy Store.
If it’s already installed:-
- Open the Settings app
- Then Navigate to Biometrics and Security > Secure Folder.
- Note: The first menu on certain phones may be “Lock Screen and Security,” or simply “Security.”

- You’ll be prompted to sign in to your Samsung account if you haven’t already.
- Wait for the Secure Folder to be created by the device.
- Then, for your Secure Folder, pick a lock screen type.
Your Secure Folder will be available for usage on your smartphone, just like any other Android app. Look for the Secure Folder app shortcut on the home screen or in the app drawer on your phone.

After you’ve enabled your Secure Folder, you should go through the settings. The settings may be accessed by tapping the three-dotted button at the upper right of the Secure Folder interface. You can manage your protected applications from here, as well as change the lock type, auto-lock settings, account settings, and notifications. In addition, you may change the design and name of the Secure Folder icon in your app drawer.
How to add Apps to the Secure Folder Samsung
You can add applications to your Secure Folder to ensure that the protected version of the app cannot be opened without first unlocking the folder and that it is only available in your Secure Folder.
To accomplish this, navigate to your Secure Folder and click the “Add Apps” option. From here, you can either add an app that is already on your phone which essentially creates another copy of the app on your device with its own cache and stored files. Or install a new app from Google’s Play Store or Samsung’s Galaxy Store.

How to move files to the Secure Folder
In addition to applications, you can move specific files from your phone to the protected area. There are two ways to accomplish this.
The first option is to open your app drawer and navigate to your My Files or Gallery app. Long press to choose the required files and folders. Then, in the top right, touch the three-dotted menu button and select “Move to Secure Folder.” They’ll be transferred when you unlock your device via your lock screen. Use the My Files or Gallery app within the Secure Folder to access these files.
You can simply go to your Secure Folder and select “Add Files.” From here, you can navigate to My Files, Images, Video, Audio, or Documents. Then choose one or more of the files and click “Done” at the bottom of the page to move them to the Secure Folder. In the same way, you can move files out of your Secure Folder. In the Secure Folder, navigate to My Files or Gallery, pick the files, and then click “Move out of Secure Folder.”

It’s worth noting that files downloaded within the Secure Folder, can only be accessed through the folder’s apps.
