The quickest move for most Android smartphone owners is to set up lock screen security on their device so that others can’t easily access it. You can choose a pattern, password, or PIN. Many devices also now use fingerprint scanners, which you’ll use most of the time, but even those will prompt you for your backup PIN or password from time to time, such as after a restart or when you try to change security settings

If you’ve ever had one of those moments where you realize that you’ve forgotten your password, pattern, or PIN, then you’re certainly not alone. Being locked out of your device is horrible, but there are a few things you can do to unlock your phone. If you forgot your Android password, PIN, or pattern, read on to find out what you can do. The blocking pattern normally allows us to enter a wrong pattern five times and the sixth time is always blocked. If you return to try, you will always get a message to retry after 30 seconds. Now is the time to admit that you have indeed forgotten and done this, click on “Forgot pattern?”. Upon that, you will be taken to a screen where you enter your Gmail account credentials. You’re allowed to unlock your device using your Google account credentials.

1) After 5 incorrectly drawn patterns the screen will be a lock.

2) At the bottom of the lock screen you can click on “Forgot pattern?”

3) Enter your Google account Username and Password. (I assume you have a signed Google account)

4) Click “Sign In”.

5) It will now allow you to Draw a NEW lock screen pattern.

Notes: This method requires you to connect your device to the internet (Wifi) or you can’t log in to your Google account.

Method 2:

Restore the Factory Settings to Unlock Password

If the above method failed to work for you, It’s Unfortunate that you are going to use a slightly complicated but efficient measure. I’m talking about a hard reset, or what is also known as – restore factory settings. It is a bit complicated but an effective method.

Steps to follow while factory resetting your Android device:

1) First you need to power off your device, then hold down the Volume Down key and the Power/Lock key simultaneously for a few seconds. It will fast boot your device. Then you will enter the Recovery Mode.

2) Navigate using ONLY the volume down key. Go to “wipe data/factory reset“, press it and It will wipe all settings and data on your device. Then reboot your phone, the password will be removed.

Once you perform the factory reset successfully,  you’ll be able to access your device without entering the lock password.

It is highly recommended to use method 1 to unlock your Android screen password, but if you have trouble signing into your Google account, you would have to try the second method though you lose your data. With this, all the data we had on our phone is lost, but on the other hand, our beloved smartphone is resurrected. Therefore, it is always good to make phone backup frequently. You never know what can happen to your smartphone.

Method 3:

Remove Screen/PIN Password without Losing Any Data.

If you don’t have a Google account and want to keep all data on the phone, then you should use Android Data Recovery instead. There is a password removal tool embedded into the program and you can remove the password of PIN/patterns/fingerprint in a few minutes. Most importantly, there is no data loss by using this method.

Step 1: Download and install the program on a computer. Open the program and click “Unlock” from the main window. After that, the program will bring up a new window.

Step 2: Connect your device to the computer with a USB cable.

Step 3: Turn your Android phone into Download mode. Don’t worry about this. Just follow the instructions displayed on the window. Then you can enter into Download mode in a minute.

Step 4: Click the “Start” button when your phone is in Download mode. Then the program starts to download the corresponding recovery package required by the program.

Step 5: After downloading is completed, Android Data Recovery starts to analyze the device and removing the password. This takes a few minutes and there isn’t any data loss during the whole process.
