Uganda National Roads Authority in partnership with MTN Mobile Money Uganda has launched a payment option for topping up the UPESI card at the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway using Mobile Money.
The Entebbe Expressway has a road toll fee system that requires payment to grant access to users. A fee of different amounts is levied at the toll gates and access is granted to the different classes of motor vehicles and motorbikes.

How to top up UPESI Card via USSD
1. Dail *165*4*5*6# and press the call button.
2. Select UPESI Card type. There are two options to choose from, option 1; Easy Pass (Wallet) and option 2: Frequent User (Weekly/Monthly).
3. Next, enter the UPESI Card number.
4. Details connected to your UPESI card number will be displayed. Enter the amount that you are willing to top up. You can not top-up below UGX 10,000.
5. Confirm transaction with your MTN Mobile Money PIN.
How to top up UPESI Card via the MTN MoMo App
1. Open and sign in to the MTN MoMo App.
2. Select the Bill Payments option.
3. Under the Pay Bill menu, select Fees and Taxes.
4. Now choose UNRA Toll from the displayed list of options.
5. Select the UPESI card type and also enter your UPESI card number then click Submit.
6. On the next page, enter the amount that you are willing to pay. You will receive a confirmatory notification once the transaction is deemed successful.
