How to Track TIN Application Status Online in Uganda

The process to attain a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) takes a while simply because of the large sums of data verification exercise involved. After applying for a TIN number, you will need to keep track of the TIN application status online to understand whether the application has been approved or rejected. This article guides you on how to track TIN application status online in Uganda.

  1. Visit the URA online portal https://www.ura.go.ug/.
  2. Tap on E-services.
  3. Locate Track Application Status.
  4. Enter your reference number then click track. (Check your acknowledgement receipt for the reference number).
  5. There are two status options; Approved and Rejected. If the application is approved it will show Appr and if the application is rejected it shows Reject.
  6. If the TIN application is rejected the client will receive a notice on their email with reason for rejection. The client will then choose to re-apply using the same application method they used before considering the corrective steps as advised in the email.
  7. If the application has been approved, the details of when the certificate will be ready will be availed.
