Google Maps allows users to easily share their precise location either temporarily or permanently. If you want to let your friends know when you’ll arrive or keep them informed about your location for safety, Google Maps makes it possible.
Whether it’s your family or partner, sharing your location with them helps them stay aware of your whereabouts at all times. This feature is also handy for providing someone with step-by-step directions to a specific place. When you share your location, the other person can view where you are on a map in real time.

How to Share Your Location with Friends on Google Maps
1. Open the Google Maps app on your phone.
2. Find the profile picture icon in the top right corner of the screen and tap on it.
3. Select the Location Sharing option.
4. Next, tap on the Share Location button.
5. Now select the duration (choose between 1 hour to 24 hours) for which you would like to share your location with friends. Alternatively, you can choose to share a location without a time stamp.
6. Choose who you want to share your location with. The recipients will receive a link that they will use to view your location.
How to Stop Sharing Your Location
After sharing your location, the list of individuals with real-time access to your location becomes visible. Select the profile of the person from whom you wish to withdraw location-sharing privileges, and then click on Stop.
