A standing order is an automatic way of making payments scheduled by the SC account holder. The account holder sets up a standing order instructing the bank to pay a set amount at regular intervals to another’s account at the designated date and time. Individuals typically use this method to pay rent, mortgage, or any other fixed regular payments like bills. This is a modified way to take care of your bills chap-chap if you are always busy. Here is how you can set a standing order using the Standard Chartered mobile app.

How to Set a Standing Order Using the Standard Chartered Mobile App

Follow the steps below to set a Standing app using the SC Mobile app;

1. First things first you need the SC mobile app. If you do not have the app you will need to download and install the SC Mobile App from Google Play Store for Androids and App Store for IOS.

2. After successful download, launch the SC Mobile App on your device.

3. Click the Login button then log in to your SC Mobile app with your username and password.

4. Select ‘Set Scheduled or Standing Order’ under the main menu bar.

5. Choose the beneficiary type for instance Between Own Accounts, Local transfers (All banks within Uganda), International Transfers (Banks outside of Uganda) Beneficiary should be already saved. To add a beneficiary, go to transfers>Add Payee>select transfer kind>enter the beneficiary details>key in the OTP to successfully complete the process.

6. Select to which saved Beneficiary you would like to transfer funds to periodically. 

7. Choose the account you would like to make the transfer from. 

8. Enter the amount of money you would like to be scheduled.

9. Select the purpose of payment from the drop-down then enter the reason for transfer for instance “Rent” if you are paying your, landlord.

10. Select the frequency from the drop-down and Continue.

11. Confirm your transfer details and proceed to set up the Standing Order.
