How To Send Money From M-PESA To MTN Rwanda
1. Dial *840# on your mobile device.
2. Input your Bonga PIN (or proceed to set up one if you haven’t).
3. Choose the “Send Money Abroad” option.
4. Select Rwanda as the destination country.
5. Enter the recipient’s phone number following the format 250XXXXXXXXX.
6. Input the desired amount, and your M-PESA PIN, and confirm the transaction.
After the transaction is finalized, Safaricom will send a confirmation text outlining the transaction specifics. Additionally, you’ll receive another SMS featuring the MTCN from M-PESA Global, which must be passed on to the recipient.
There is also a provision for MPESA subscribers to send money from MPESA to MTN Rwanda using the My Safaricom app. Just open the app, tap on “Send to Mobile”, choose the country as Rwanda, and follow the prompts.
