The screen recorder feature started with the Android 11 Operating System. Nevertheless, some smartphones from OnePlus, Samsung and LG running on Android 10 have slightly different versions of the screen recorder. How about those with older smartphones running on Android 10 backward? You just have to use a third-party app from Google’s Play Store.

With a few adjustments here and there, the way you screen record is mostly the same throughout devices. To get started;

  • Pull down the notification panel from the top of your screen to see your quick settings options.
  • Tap the screen record button and give permission to the device to record your screen.
  • Make sure that you record sound if you want it to be recorded.
  • Tap Start recording and a countdown will begin before a toolbar appears on the screen and the recording starts.

On some devices, the toolbar includes the ability to minimize the bar, draw on the screen, turn on your front-facing camera, pause the recording, or stop it completely. The toolbar and selfie window can be moved around the screen as desired.

After a recording is stopped, the video is saved to your phone’s media storage. For additional settings, long-press on the Screen Recorder quick settings icon.
