Safeboda Uganda is looking to introduce an option for its users to buy fresh food from markets.
In the wake of COVID-19, the ride-hailing app turned food delivery app, is looking to maximize all of its available resources to serve its clients.
Through Safeboda food, the tech-startup has been able to continue servicing its clients through food delivery from within areas of Kampala and Entebbe.
Due to the lockdown, traveling is impossible. Those who need food are not able to travel far distances to reach markets.
In order to solve this problem, Safeboda is set to introduce market vendors into their application. Basically, the market is right there in your Safeboda app.

Safeboda Fresh Food markets update
By adding market vendors in their application, shopping food items will be just a swipe away.
Before this, the only available options to buy were from restaurants and supermarkets.

Your daily food items will be made accessible now and you won’t have to walk or send a Boda guy as many had resorted to.
Other things Safeboda is doing in the wake of COVID-19
1. Preorder
Since curfew times are tight, Safeboda has chosen to improvise and ensure that everyone is happy.
On the Safeboda app, you can now preorder for certain items. With this provision, the product is delivered on the following day.
This has enables Safeboda riders not to be caught up and break curfew time, but rather, pre-plan and deliver on the next day in time.
2. Parcel Delivery
Since motorbikes aren’t allowed to carry individuals but only food items, you can send your Safeboda to get your parcel or deliver it.
Depending on where you are, and where you intend for your parcel to go, the prices vary.
This option is available in your Safeboda app.

3. Beverages, Groceries and Food
You can easily order for Beverages, Groceries and/or food from your favorite restaurant with Safeboda Food.
Safeboda is offering FREE delivery for some of these products sold. Be sure to look out for those offers.
Through all this, Safeboda is doing the most in fighting the COVID-19 spread by:
- Ensuring contact-less delivery
- Encouraging good hygiene among its vendors
- Encouraging users to stick to cashless transactions and prevent using cash
- Sensitizing all their staff and riders on ways to keep safe
