Many top universities in Uganda have taken registration off the manual scripts to an online activity, the long queues are hectic we all need to agree.

If you are among the people who have been on the hunt to get registered to any of the top universities in Uganda, here is an eye opener for you. A well-researched and detailed guide to prepare you register for that University of your dreams online.

After hearing from the many students who used manual registration and later found problems of finding their records, we realized online registration is the best, quickest and easiest way to get attached to your desired university.

As UG Tech mag, we want to share with you a clear and appropriate steps on how to get registered to your desired university in Uganda online, at the comfort of your home. In this blog we shall provide information from exactly 5 top universities in Uganda, and also links to help you reach to their online registration portal so as to register as soon as possible.

ONLINE REGISTRATION /APPLICATION TO MAKERERE UNIVERSITY.

Step 1: Input the link https://applications.mak.ac.ug/ in your browser.

The first computer interface shall look as shown below. Click on create account and move onto the next interface.

Step 2: Input all your information in this interface as shown below and click register.

Step 3: Fill in the appropriate information about yourself, ensure that the interface looks like the one below.

Ensure you have all your documents scanned and in softcopy.

  • Passport photo (under 100KB)
  • Birth certificate
  • O-level certificate/passlip or equivalent
  • A-level certificate/passlip or equivalent
  • Degree/Diploma certificate/passlip

The above documents should be under 1MB

Select the “application type” and “intake”, then click on Apply now.

The Application type depends on the entry scheme you are applying for, for example;

If A-level student – Select Private Application

If Diploma student – Select Private diploma holder

If Mature entry student – Select Private application mature age

Step 4: A form is displayed, fill all the required fields in each of the following tabs.

This shall include;

  • Personal information
  • Education information
  • Program choice
  • Documents
  • Declarations

NOTE: You can’t go to the following tab without completing the information in the current tab.

A complete tab will be marked as “Done”, and an incomplete tab will be marked as “pending”.

Step 5: An application number is issued to you (e.g. APFE/MAK/22427) after completing all the information and submitting your application on the last tab.

After submitting your application on the last tab, please generate a bank-slip that you shall use to make payments at the bank of your choice from the bank(s) listed.

NOTE: After submitting this application, you cannot make changes to it; so you need to be careful and

cautious to fill in the information correctly and accurately.

Step 6: Your application status is named “Application Pending”. After paying the application fee (UGX: 50,000) to any bank of your choice, make sure to write your application number on it.

Log in via the portal with your email and password to confirm if the application status has changed from “Application pending” to “Application completed”. This status may take like 24hours to change, but when it fails, contact the Academic Registrar’s Department office 612, Senate building or write an email to [email protected]

ONLINE REGISTRATION/APPLICATION TO KYAMBOGO UNIVERSITY.

Step 1: Input the link http://admissions.kyu.ac.ug/signup in your browser

The interface will look as below.

Step 2: Go ahead to put all your information and click on create account.

Step 3: You will receive this message showing that you have created an account successfully as showed below. Log into your account via http://admissions.kyu.ac.ug/login

Step 4: You can now access your application form as shown below.

When you click on the application program, you’ll be required to choose the scheme for which you are applying. Below are the options;

  • Undergraduate Entry
  • Diploma Entry
  • Postgraduate Entry

Then press continue.

Step5: The guidelines as provided below shall help you lead to another form, if you tick the declaration first as shown.

Step 6: The bio data form shall be previewed next as below, fill all the information and press next.

You will be required to put your contact information and physical address next.

Step 7: The next two tabs shall require you to put in your academic information which is; the program your applying for and your previous academic achievements as below.

Step 8: After submitting all the information, you’ll be required to pay.

Click “Pay Now” on your dashboard, and you’ll be previewed with a payslip, which you will print out and pay to only Stanbic and Crane bank which are currently are supported by the university. Below are the 2 respective tabs.

NOTE: No form will be considered for admission if it’s not paid for.

After payment, you will receive a notification SMS on your phone and email verifying your payment. The status on your account when you log in shall be changed to “PAID”.

ONLINE REGISTRATION/APPLICATION TO MBARARA UNIVERSITY.

Step 1: Input the link http://applications.must.ac.ug/ in your browser

The interface will look like the one below. You will be required to get an access code, therefore click on the button “Click here to get access code”.

Step 2: You will be previewed with the interface below, where you will input your email and full name. Click on “Request Access Code”.

An access code (e.g. 1417) will be sent to your email, which you will input and click “Verify access code”. NOTE: Your access code will be like your password.

Step 3: You will then input the Email and Access Code (password) to obtain your application form. The interface shall be as below.

ONLINE REGISTRATION/APPLICATION TO NDEJJE UNIVERSITY.

Step 1: Log into the registration portal below http://admissions.ndu.ac.ug/ The interface will be as below.
