Register for Airtel money Uganda
How to register for Airtel Money in Uganda
- Have your Airtel SIM card registered at the Airtel Service Centre.
- Carry credentials like National ID, passport photograph, a passport, or a refugee card if you have a refugee registration status.
- Once you register your SIM card, Airtel automatically registers you on Airtel Money. What you need to do next is activate your Airtel money account (We explain how next)
- To check your sim registration status, Dial *197# and select Check registration.
Completing activation of Airtel Money account
- Dial *185#
- Select option 2, which is ‘request for activation code’
- Redial *185#
- Select option 2, which is ‘Activate Account’
- Enter Activation Code received
- Enter New PIN (4-digit figure), which is your preferred PIN or secret code.
- Re-enter that PIN to confirm
How to reset Airtel money pin Uganda
- Dial *185#
- Select My Account (Option 10)
- Select PIN reset (Option 7)
- Select Reset PIN using alternative number
- Input your new PIN
- Put your phone number
- Put the old PIN to confirm
- Your PIN will be changed successfully

Register for MTN Mobile Money (MTN MOMO) Uganda
How to register for MTN Mobile Money in Uganda
- Visit the nearest authorized MTN store.
- Your SIM card should be Mobile Money enabled. If it is not, ask for it to be enabled.
- The agent shall see you through the registration process
- They will have you fill a physical registration form/slip. You should have a valid National ID/Passport/Driver’s license/Company ID/Government ID/Tax Certificate/LC Certificate/Voter’s Card.
- The agent will help you complete your registration by opening your Mobile Money Account.

- You can download the registration form from mtn.co.ug
- Fill out the form
- Take it to the nearest MTN service store
- Take with you a copy of your National ID and passport photo.
How to register for MTN MoMo online
- Download the MTN Mobile Money registration form from mtn.co.ug
- Fill out the form
- Scan a copy of the registration form plus your ID and passport photo, and email them to [email protected].

Register for Africell money (afri money) Uganda
How to register for Africell Money in Uganda
- Visit the nearest Afriell shop.
- Take the following credentials with you; National ID, valid passport photo/Passport/voter’s card/student ID/driving permit/Employer or LC ID
- Fill the form that will be given to you by Customer Care.
- An Africell Money Account will be created and activated for you.
- You will receive an SMS from Africell requesting you to change your PIN for Africell Money.
How to use Africell Money
- Simply dial *144# and get started.
Africell Money offers the following services
- Sending money to Africell customers
- Sending money to people on other networks
- Receiving money from Africell customers
- Receiving money from non-Africell customers
- Sending and receiving money from those without phones. Here, a secret code is automatically generated upon sending the money. The code is used by the recipient to withdraw the money while at the agent’s store.
- Paying for goods and services
- Paying utility bills such as water, digital TV, electricity etc
- Buying internet packages and airtime directly from your Africell Money account
