The police clearance certificate is also called a certificate of good conduct. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) is responsible for issuing this document. The document indicates that one has been searched in the criminal records system. Non-Kenyan citizens are now able to apply for police clearance online through the eCitizen portal. The certificate is issued whether one has a criminal record or not. If an individual has no criminal record it’s indicated ‘nil’ on the certificate.
