Game Types for Every Kind of Player

The beautiful thing about gaming is that it comes in many different forms. Some like to play adventure video games; some enjoy visiting online casinos which offer a wide variety of online slots like Crazy 7, and some like puzzle-type games like Sudoku. Many of these gaming activities are free to play, some are free to try or have in-game purchases, and some will require a small premium in order to play. In every case, players will get a lot in return for the time they will invest in playing these games, as doing so will help them cope with the monotony of everyday life, it will act as a short break during periods of pressure or heavy workload,s and it will engage the brain with fun challenges.

Wordle – The Internet’s New Sensation

If one were to check the most recent trends in social media, then they would see the word “Wordle” being used over and over again. This simple word puzzle game is gaining popularity at an extremely fast pace and even developer Josh Wardle finds it hard to understand how Wordle managed to become such a big success. The most recent activity report showed that two million people joined the game during the second weekend of 2022. Every day, each Wordle player gets six chances to guess the right word. The game feels simple, but it gives people the opportunity to put on their thinking hats and to feel a sense of accomplishment by managing to decipher each day’s puzzle. Those few minutes during which the player tries to figure out the word, can be a great distraction after a tough customer phone call, after a meeting with the top managers of your workplace or after a difficult pop quiz at school.

There is only One Wordle, but there are more than just a few Clones

Wordle was created in order for its developer to challenge his friend through a word puzzle, but suddenly it became a game that everyone wanted to play. Naturally, and in a matter of a few weeks, websites and application stores started being populated by Wordle-clone games. One of the most successful Wordle clones is Wheeldle, which is a game that challenges players to guess as many words as they want. Just as Wordle is a derivative of Josh Wardle’s surname, Wheeldle is a derivative of the surname of its creator; Michael Whelan. As a fellow game designer, Whelan has no problem admitting that his creation is a copy of Wordle. The only difference is that Wheeldle is a rougher-on-the-eyes harder version of Wordle, which Whelan wants to use as a foundation for his future gaming projects. The interesting thing is that Whelan is an RPG developer, so it will be interesting to see how he will incorporate word puzzle mechanics in role-playing games.
