How to Pin  Direct Messages (DM) on Twitter

Twitter has a variety of features however this article will focus on how to pin direct messages (DM). The pin feature allows the user to front a particular conversation without refrainment of when they last chatted. The feature is limited to only 6 conversations. When you activate the pin conversation feature, the conversation will be added under pinned conversations.

Twitter allows users to pin up to 6 direct messages/conversations at the top of the list. These pinned direct messages will appear under the “Pinned Conversations” section at the top of the Messages page right below the search bar.

How to Pin  Direct Messages (DM) on Twitter

Looking for one of your favorite conversations can be hectic, that’s why pinning it will save the day. Here is how;

Step 1: Start the Twitter app on your device. Ensure that you are using the latest or updated version of Twitter.

Step 2: Head over to the DMs section by tapping on the Envelop icon in the bottom right corner.

Step 3: Find the DM conversation that you like to pin, then swipe to the left for the pin option to display.

Step 4: Tap PIN.

Step 5: The selected conversation will be added to the “Pinned Conversations” at the top of your Twitter inbox. Go ahead and repeat the same process for the other conversations that you want to pin. Remember you can only pib 6 Direct messages.

How to Unpin Direct Messages on Twitter

At any given time, for whichever reasons you hold at heart, you can always choose to Unpin direct messages on Twitter. All Unpinned messages will disappear from the Pinned Conversations sections. Follow the steps below to unpin DMs;

Step 1: Head over to the DMs section by tapping on the Envelop icon in the bottom right corner.

Step 2: Under the Pinned Conversations section, find the DM conversation that you like to unpin then swipe to the left for the Unpin option to display.

Step 3: Tap UnPiN and the Direct message will be unpinned instantly.

Why Can’t I Pin Direct Messages on Twitter?

1. Outdated Twitter app: The reason why you can not pin Direct messages could be related to the fact that you are using an outdated version. To solve this issue, update to the latest version of the Twitter app.

2. Maximized Pin Number: Once you have maximized the 6 availed Pinned DM options, you will be unable to pin DMs anymore until you make the decision to unpin a conversation from the Pinned Conversation section.
