Pay Netflix Using MTN Mobile Money
Step 1: Create an MTN Momo Card
First, register for a virtual credit card. This service is available on both MTN mobile money. The MTN MoMocard can be used to pay for a Netflix subscription. The MoMo card is connected to the customer’s MTN account. Plus the service is available on all phone types.
How to Create MTN MoMocard?
- Dial *165*70#, then OK.
- Enter option 1, Create MTN MoMoCard.
- You will be charged UGX 1000 for the MoMocard. Input your PIN to confirm.
- MTN MoMocard will be created instantly. All MoMocard details will be sent to the customer via SMS. The information will include a 16-digit card number, Expiry Date, and Security code (CVV).
- To review details, dial *165*70*2# then enter the pin. Like a Netflix subscription, the MTN MoMocard is only valid for 30 days. This means you must purchase a new virtual card on your next subscription. You will be charged UGX 1,000 for the MTN MoMo card.
Pay Netflix Using Airtel Money
First, you need to register for AirtelMoney Mastercard. The AirtelMoney Mastercard is a virtual card that can be used on all merchant platforms that consent to Mastercard service worldwide. Just like a debit card that is allied to a bank account, the AirtelMoney Master card is connected to the customer’s AirtelMoney account and the service is available for all mobile phone types.
How to Create Airtel Money Mastercard?
- Dial *185*7# via Airtel.
- Choose option 8, AirtelMoney Mastercard.
- Select option 1, Get a Card.
- Enter AirtelMoney PIN to continue. UGX 1000 will be charged off your account for MasterCard purchases.
- The Mastercard information will be sent to your phone via SMS.
- To review MasterCard details, dial *185*7*9*1# then enter the pin. Like a Netflix subscription, the AirtelMoney Mastercard is only valid for 30 days. This means that you will need to purchase a new virtual card on your next subscription. The Airtel Money Mastercard costs UGX 1,000.
How to Pay Netflix Using Mobile Money
1. Open the Netflix App (It is available for both Androids and iPhones). If you do not have the app, launch your favorite browser on your PC or tablet and navigate the Netflix website.
2. Sign up and register for a Netflix account. Select the preferred monthly plan, for example, Mobile, Basic, and Standard then click NEXT.
3. The billing page will appear. Remember your account membership starts as soon as the payment transaction is done. Now go ahead and enter either the AirtelMoney Mastercard or MTN MoMo card details the the 16-digit virtual card number, Expiry Date, and the CVV that was sent to your phone via SMS. Dial *165*70*2# on MTN and *185*7*9*1# on Airtel to review the Mastercard details.
4. Accept the Netflix Terms of Use and Privacy Statement. Click Start Membership to finalize your subscription.
Editor’s Note: The MTN MoMocard and the Airtel Money card are temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. That means that you can not create either a VISA or MASTERCARD to make your payments. In the meantime, there is no provision to pay Netflix using Mobile Money.
