The Fly With Bonga campaign was introduced following a partnership between the regional low-cost carrier Kenya Airways and Safaricom, allowing Safaricom subscribers to buy air tickets for domestic destinations using Bonga Points. Bonga point is a loyalty program launched by Safaricom in 2007 to allow its customers to accumulate and redeem points based on usage of services the Safaricom network awards one Bonga point, for every 10 shillings that a customer spends.

key Points About Fly with Bonga Campaign
- Fly with Bonga only works with Kenya Airways and you can only use the points for domestic destinations. In other words, Bonga points can get you a ticket to Mombasa, Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu, and Malindi.
- You need a particular number of points. These points are influenced by flight type, ticket class, and destination. If you fall short of the required points, you won’t be able to pay using Bonga points. Fortunately, friends and family can share their Bonga points with you.
- Before redeeming your Bonga points for an air ticket, ensure to book your flight first. This will help you initiate a Reference number that you will use during the redeeming process. - Once you cancel your ticket, you lose your Bonga points.

How to Pay For an Air Ticket with Safaricom Bonga Points
At this point, we are assuming that you already registered for the Bonga points loyalty program. If you haven’t, click here for the guide. On a good note though, if you already registered for the loyalty program, first check your available Bonga points then confirm if you are able to exchange them for the preferred ticket.
After that, follow the guide below to redeem your points for an air ticket;
- On your phone dial *126#.
- Select Redeem your Bonga Points.
- Opt for Free Kenya Airways Ticket.
- Provide the reference number issued by Kenya Airways.
- Input the Amount you want to pay for the air ticket
- The phone will display a response displaying the number of points you need to pay for the ticket.
- Press okay to proceed then follow the prompts.
- If the subscriber is eligible, the transaction will be confirmed successfully.
