Below are 4 alternatives for using emoji panel on desktop/laptop

1. Use the keyboard shortcut

– For Windows 10

Hold down the Windows key + (full stop) or Windows key + (semi colon)

NOTE: Windows 8 doesn’t have an emoji panel shortcut, however, you can follow the steps in the next option below to get an on-screen emoji panel on your Windows 8.

– For MacBook

Press the Command (⌘) + Control (Ctrl) + Space at once.

2. Use Touch keyboard

For Windows 8

To use the Touch keyboard in Windows 10 and 8 for emoji, follow the steps below;

  • Go to your Windows taskbar and right-click on it (or search for taskbar settings from the Windows Start button).
  • After, choose the Toolbar option at the top of the menu that appears.
  • Then choose Touch Keyboard.
  • Click on the Touch Keyboard icon in the taskbar in the bottom right corner of your taskbar. This will pop the on-screen keyboard on your laptop.
  • In the lower-left section of the keyboard, choose the smiley key.
  • After that, you can select the target emoji to include in the text field.

For Windows 10

  • Go to your Windows taskbar and right-click on it (or search for taskbar settings at the Windows Start button)
  • After, choose Toolbar from the cascading menu that appears.
  • Then choose Touch Keyboard.
  • Select the Touch Keyboard icon in the taskbar.
  • In the lower-left section of the keyboard, choose the smiley key.
  • After that, you can select the target emoji to include in the text field.

– For MacBook

On your MacBook:

  • Select the Apple   menu option in the top left corner
  • Choose System Preferences
  • Click the Accessibility option
  • Select Keyboard on the list
  • After, select the Enable Accessibility keyboard option

3. Use Google Chrome Extensions

  • In this method, you will need to download and install the emoji keyboard extension from the Google Chrome Webstore.
