Only Admin to send messages in WhatsApp Groups

WhatsApp can now allow Only an Admin to send messages to a group. WhatsApp recently has become more like a business tool than a social chatting Application like it had been years ago. In Uganda and across the world, people have found a market for their products on a platform as simple as their own WhatsApp statuses. It’s now an important business tool, no wonder, MTN and UMEME decided to open accounts on WhatsApp so they can get close to their customers.

Noting the above, WhatsApp groups then have become a major hit. Business personnel creates these WhatsApp groups and share links that invite their customers to join in and be part of this broad market. It was working well, but the challenge came in when different participants brought up a chat unrelated to the group’s theme.

Only Admin to send messages in WhatsApp Groups

WhatsApp however has corrected it this time by giving WhatsApp group Admins another option of making these groups read-only. This means WhatsApp group Administrators can now restrict other group participants from sending messages to the group. It’s boring I know, but important.

Now, while you’re creating a business group, you can define the rights you give to your participants. How? Below is a clear step-by-step guide on how to restrict others from sending a message to your business WhatsApp groups.

How to add group descriptions in WhatsApp

A Group Description is an information that is displayed at the top of the chat when a new participant joins in. Briefly, it introduces the theme of the group to the user without Admins having to keep on copying and pasting the same introduction message for everyone who joins the group.

  • Open WhatsApp group chat of your choice
  • Tap Group subject or Name
  • Alternatively, you can also tap and hold on your target group in the chats tab, then tap more option and proceed to Group info.
  • Tap on the Group description option
  • Enter a new description if it was missing or change the description to what you desire and tap Ok to confirm this action.

Conclusion

  • By restricting participants from sending messages to the group, it allows Admins to control the group easily.
  • The group is clean and just simple since only relevant information is sent to the group.
  • Remember, you can always change these settings whenever you desire by falling the same steps as listed above.
