Effective 1st May 2021, MTN Uganda reduced its MTN Mobile Money withdrawal rates in a move to reinforce financial inclusion and enhance customer benefits when they use MTN MoMo services across the country.
These reduced MTN mobile money withdrawal rates grant MTN subscribers free MTN Senkyu points depending on the amount withdrawn.
For instance, MTN will now charge UGX 12,500 down, from UGX 13,000 for withdrawing between UGX 500,001 and UGX 1,000,000. The subscriber gets 250 MTN Senkyu points. Those withdrawing between UGX 30,001 and UGX 45,000 will pay UGX 1,210 withdrawal fees from UGX1,300 charged previously and earn 24 MTN Senkyu points.

However the 0.5% tax on the amount withdrawn is not included in the computation of the withdrawal rates.
