What are MTN Freedom Bundles?
What are these MTN Freedom bundles you may be wondering, it is as simple as this.
MTN Uganda’s Freedom bundles are data bundles that never expire.
You have heard of the Daily Bundles, Weekly Bundles, Monthly bundles, and Yearly bundles too, the MTN Freedom Bundles are a completely new phenomenon.
Compare this to Airtime, you buy any amount of Airtime you need and use it up to its completion. This has come just after Africell Uganda unveiled its new Juicy bundles and months later after MTN Uganda re-introduced its Gaga Wednesday bundles.

How to load MTN Freedom Bundles
The steps are very simple, similar to your usual steps of buying MTN Data:
- Dial *150#
- Select Option 7
- You can choose to buy for yourself (Option 1) or another MTN user (Option 2)
- Choose your preferred Freedom Bundle option and browse away
Provided the bundle still exists, you can browse for an unlimited time until they are all used up.

Our Thoughts
MTN Uganda is the first to launch a bundle of this kind in Uganda, a good step in the right direction. This has come after questions have been raised about Why Data bundles should expire from counterparts in Kenya and other EastAfrican countries.
Internet Service Providers like Safaricom in Kenya have implemented non-expiry bundles for data, voice and SMS bundles but differently.
This is hopefully a trend other providers around Africa shall adopt come 2020.
Moving forward, the new MTN Uganda Freedom bundles are quite small, the largest being 1GB. If more options are offered, maybe these No Expiry bundles will be widely adopted.
