Tips and Tricks to fix the MAC keyboard not working issue

a) Checking the wireless dongle

There are some wireless keyboards that use a USB dongle to connect to the Mac PC. Although the batteries are fully charged on your keyboard, as long as it can not connect to the dongle, it will not work.

Unluckily, this is not very easy to check. The wireless chips in either the dongle or the keyboard could be broken, and finding out is not that simple.

You could plug the dongle into a different USB port. As well as on another computer. If it works elsewhere, the keyboard and dongle are fine.

b) Deleting newer apps

The Mac keyboard may not be working because a new app is meddling with it. If the problem began recently, consider what apps you have added, and try removing them.

c) Cleaning the keyboard

Dust and other waste beneath the keyboard could be causing issues with your keyboard. In such cases; cleaning out under the keys could solve the problem, or holding your MacBook or Mac keyboard vertically, preferably at a 75º angle, or you could use a can of compressed air, and spray the keyboard or the non-functioning keys. Then move in a left-to-right direction.

d) Checking batteries

In the event that your wireless Apple keyboard is not turning on, try replacing the batteries. But provided that you are using something like the newer Apple Magic keyboard, which has a built-in battery, check that it is charged.

Additionally, try using a different charging cable and a different USB port on your Mac. Any of these things could be the reason your Mac keyboard will not turn on.

e) Updating your Operating System

It is very likely that your Mac keyboard is not working because of software issues. In that event, updating the operating system could help. Open System Preferences > Select Software Update > If there are updates available, install them.
