In this post, we talk about lyca money. Lycamobile is a British mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) operating in 60 countries -Uganda inclusive. Lycamobile is selling international pay-as-you-go SIM. Given that Lycamobile is an MVNO, it is leasing radio frequencies from mobile phone network operators and forming partnerships with the operators in each country it serves.

Lycamobile has also developed distinct business structures, including in Uganda. With the adoption of Mobile Money on the local Ugandan scene, Lyca mobile is taking the same route with Lyca money – as we will see ahead.
What is Lyca Money?
Similar to MTN’s MoMo and Airtel’s Airtel Money, Lycamobile now has Lyca Money.
Mobile Money refers to payment services operated under financial regulation and performed from or via a mobile device. Rather than paying with cash, cheque, or credit cards, a consumer can use a mobile to pay for a wide range of services and digital or hard goods.
Some of the Lyca Money services include:
- Sending and receiving money.
- Depositing and withdrawing money from authorized Agents.
- Wallet to Bank services.
- ATM cardless withdrawal.
- Payment for the Lyca Mobile Postpaid Services Bills.
- Purchasing Lyca Mobile airtime, Voice, and Data Service bundles for yourself and others.
- Paying utility bills.
- Paying taxes to URA and license fees and property rates to the city and municipal authorities.
Lycamobile offers other telecommunication services that include:

Which focuses on selling calling cards to wholesalers to then sell on to the public.
b) Secondly, Lycatalk
Which is a high-quality long-distance pinless service that can be used from your existing phone numbers and you can also monitor all your call records online.
c) Thirdly, Lycachat
Lycachat is a smartphone app available for Android.
Use Lycachat to connect to family and friends across the world freely. Send texts, make HD-quality phone and video calls and send photos and video messages over Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G free of charge!
