The evolution of technology has greatly impacted the way we live our lives. Gone are the days when you needed to journal down all important details, events, and experiences in a book or paper which was unsafe by the way since anyone could uncover it from the hidden spot. Currently, using the Notes app on your iPhone, you can journal about anything at the tip of your fingertips. What makes the Notes app on your iPhone unique, is that you can lock Notes with a password. Cool! Right? That means no one will ever get access to your private information without your consent.

4. Depending on the iPhone version or IOS running, the procedure might be a little different but it will still get the work done. Tap the Share button at the top right of the screen. In the pop-up, tap “Lock Note,” which has a padlock icon and should appear in the second row of icons.

5. On the Set Password page, you will be required to set up a password and verify it. You can also use Face ID to open the Notes if you enable the option. Select a memorable and secure password, once the password is lost, you will not access the Notes. Create a hint that you will use to reset your password.

6. Upon setting up everything, click Done in the upper right corner. You will then be referred to the locked Note. At the top bar, you will see an unlocked padlock icon. When you’ve finished editing the note, tap the open lock. This locks your note so that the password you set will be required to open it.

To unlock a note: open it > tap View Note > type the password you created above. When you’ve finished viewing or editing your note, you’ll need to re-lock it by choosing the open lock icon on the tap toolbar.

  1. Quick Tip: Repeat the step-by-step guide any time you lock the app. However, you will have to use the same password that you created for the first Note. Unfortunately, there is no collective way to lock all the Notes in your Notes app. You will have to do it individually for each note. Notes with video files, audio files, or PDF or other file attachments cannot be locked. You can, however, lock notes with pictures attached.
