Jumia Global is an expansion of Jumia’s services which enables sellers from outside Uganda to sell their products on Jumia Uganda’s platform.

With Jumia Global, you can now purchase products from overseas through Jumia’s app or website, and be able to get them at your door step or at any Jumia collection point.

This new improvement in Jumia’s services poses a threat to companies like Intership, MyUS, UGunlocked, and other shipping agents/companies. These companies are dominating the fields of importing/shipping products to Uganda.

Here is how Jumia Global is meant to make shopping easy for you and me.

Why Jumia Global has made access to products easy

There exists a lot of products not available on the Ugandan market that are existent in outside countries.

These could be latest phone models, TV screens, or electrical appliances that are new on the market and aren’t yet available within Uganda. This will help Ugandans who are in need of such products to be able to shop them at the comfort of their homes, office or anywhere at any time.

Without a doubt, there exists a whole lot of exporters who have been existent years before Jumia introduced the Jumia Global service.

The best advantage for this Jumia Global service over other options is that you are able to pay for your product with local currency using your convenient option. (either MTN’s MOMO pay or Bank account transfer).

Precautions to put in mind before shopping with Jumia Global

  • Payment on delivery is not allowed. Any item you want to purchase is paid after you proceed to check out (See images above).
  • After making an order, you cannot cancel it. Be sure to cross check and not regret spending your cash.
  • Since the item you are purchasing is not in Uganda, it will take longer to arrive. (You will wait for approximately a minimum of 12 working days)
  • The product you are buying is built for its country of origin, so it is not covered by any manufacturer warranty in Uganda. Sellers do not also offer any form of warranty, except if the product has a defect after delivery.
  • The return policy is acceptable in two situations. One, if you received the wrong product. Second, if the product has a defect on delivery.

Conclusion

Jumia Uganda being a trusted source of purchasing products online, it may have this advantage over existing exporting companies.

Even with its convenience in payment, this can be very advantageous for Jumia’s new service.
