The Amazon Fire line of tablets has proven to be a solid collection of tablet options and that’s because of the low price tags that start as low as $50. Unfortunately, even though the Amazon Fire tablet is grouped under Android devices, it does not offer direct access to Play Store and all PlayStore has to offer. So not only do you miss out on the large library of apps, but you also miss out on the regular everyday apps like YouTube, Gmail, Google Chrome, and many more apps. Step 1: Check Device Model

To begin you need to check your Fire Tablet model, as well as your software version. Go to Settings then look for Device options. At the bottom of the Device options menu, you will be able to find the Device model. On the same menu tap System Updates, to see the Software version and update to the latest version if there are any updates available. Step 2: Allow Apps to Download from Unknown Sources

Next, you will need to allow your device to download apps from unknown sources so you can successfully download APK files;

  • Start the “Settings” app from the “Home” tab on the home screen.
  • Tap on “Security & Privacy.”
  • Select “Apps From Unknown Sources.”
  • Find “Silk Browser” and then toggle on “Allow From This Source.” This is what will allow us to install an app from outside of the Amazon app store. After that, exit to the home page.

Step 3: Download the APK File on your Device

Now you will have to download 4 APK files on your device. However, you need to choose APK files that are correct for your device. The APKs can be found and downloaded right from the browser on your tablet. It is important to download the APKs in a particular order.

  1. First, download the Google Account Manager APK.
  2. Then download Google Services Framework APK.
  3. Followed by Google Play Service APK.
  4. Finally Google Play Store.

When the APK download is complete, do not open the notification or more so install the file just yet until you have downloaded all the recommended 4 APK files.

Step 4: Install the Play Store on your Amazon Fire Tablet

1. Upon completion of downloading all the APK files, you can now begin to install them on your device. Start the “Files” app from the home screen.

2. Under Files select “Downloads” from the side menu and switch to the list view for the files. The files that you just downloaded will appear on top.

3. Before you tap on any of the downloaded files, remember that you need to install the APK files in order the safe order you downloaded them;

  1. com.google.android.gsf.login
  2. com.google.android.gsf
  3. com.google.android.gms
  4. com.android.vending

The file names on your device will be longer but with similar content in each file name. Now that you know the order of installation; Tap the file > select “Continue” > tap the “Install” button. After it installs, tap “Done.” Don’t open the Play Store yet.

4. After installing the APKs, restart your Fire tablet-hold down the power button and select “Restart.”

5. As soon as the tablet reboots, the Play Store app will have downloaded on the home screen. Open it and sign in with your Google account. That’s it then, you have installed Google Play Store and you can now go ahead and install more apps that are available on Google Play Store.
