If you have just joined the GOTV family, then you will need to install GOTV services and enjoy a box full of entertainment, football, telenovela, and kids’ entertainment. All you have to do is properly assemble the GOtenna, connect the cable to the TV and decoder, allow auto-scanning and you will immediately access a variety of channels. This article guides you on how to install GOTV for the first time.
Requirements
- GOTV Digital Terrestrial decoder.
- Remote Control.
- 12V Power supply unit.
- 1.5m cable.
- GOtenna.
- 10 meter Coaxial cable and pole bracket.

Install GOTV for the First Time
1. Connect your decoder to the TV using the audio and video AV cable (red, white, and yellow cable) provided.
2. Carefully put out the antenna from the box. Most of the GOTV antennas are thoroughly assembled by the retailer. Install the antenna with the red button on top and the green button at the bottom resembling the traffic light. Review all the antenna installation guidelines from the packaging as well.
3. Install your GOtenna outside your house on a poll as high as possible facing the transmitting tower.
4. Once the GOtenna is secure on the pole, connect the cable using a screw-on connector into the back of the connection box. Then feed the cable into the house.

5. Connect the GoTenna to the decoder into the RFN plug. Then connect the GOTV power cable to the decoder and switch on the power.
6. The GOTV logo will appear on the screen followed by a first-time installation notification.
7. Select Language as English and press OK.
8. Choose User Country (Uganda) and press OK.
9. Select Antenna power as off and press OK.
10. The screen will show Auto Scanning. Scanning takes approximately 5 minutes. Do not interrupt any process or press any key on the remote.
11. Once Automatic scanning is complete, the screen will go dark for a few seconds and the software upgrade will commence automatically. This will last approximately 6 minutes.
12. The GOTV channel will appear. And finally, you have successfully installed your GOtv decoder.
