Most of the time, it’s preferred to convert our important documents and presentations to pdf. The primary reason is to avoid unintended altering of the original content especially for documents that are used on more than one computer.

The files we usually convert to pdf include business documents, letters, presentations, or even work at school.

The most common way of converting documents to pdf is by using online converters. This ain’t a problem until when you need a pdf and there is no internet access at that moment.

But can I convert a document to pdf without the internet? Definitely Yes.
The solution to this is to use the inbuilt converter in Microsoft Word. The Microsoft Office suite comes with an inbuilt pdf converter which is installed in all its child programs (Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.). The converter does not need any internet connection or an extra fee to pay.

How to use Microsoft Word to convert a document to pdf

  1. After saving your word document. Click on File in the top left corner of the window.
  2. From the list of options in the left pane, click on Export
  3. Click on create PDF/XPS document
  4. Give the pdf a name and Navigate to the location where you want to save the pdf file then click on publish pdf.
  5. The same steps can be used to create a pdf from all Microsoft Office programs.
