Using iPhone photos to edit is pretty simple. all you have to do is use the tools within the photos app. Adjust the light and color, crop, and add a filter. There are plenty of tools at your disposal. You can also revert changes made if you don’t like the final look.

Adjust light and color

  • In Photos, tap on the photos thumbnail to view it on full screen.
  • Tap Edit, and swipe left under the photo to see the different effects to edit; Exposure, Brilliance,
  • In Photos, tap on the photo thumbnail to view it on full screen.
  • Tap Edit, and swipe left under the photo to see the different effects to edit; Exposure, Brilliance, Highlights, and shadows
  • Choose the effect you want to edit and drag the slider to fine-tune to what you want.
  • Tap the effect button to switch between the edited and original effects.
  • Then tap Done to save your edits.

Crop, rotate, or flip a photo

• In Photos, tap a photo to view it on fullscreen

• Then tap the Aspect Ratio Freeform button and choose either square, 16:9, or 5:4

• Tap the Rotate button to rotate the photo 90 degrees or tap the Flip button to mirror the image horizontally

• Then save your Edits

You can also use this tool to Straighten and adjust perspective.

• Swipe left under the photo you have selected to edit. The effects are ‘straighten’, ‘Vertical’, or ‘Horizontal’.

• Tap the effect you want and drag the slider to adjust to your liking. You can toggle between the edited effect and the original.

• Tap Done to save your edits.

Apply filter effects

• Repeat the same procedure.

• In Photos, tap a photo thumbnail to view it on full screen.

• Tap Edit, then tap the Filters button and apply filter effects; Vivid, Dramatic, or Silvertone.

• Tap the filter and drag the slider to adjust the effect.

• Then Tap Done to save your edits.

Write or draw a photo

  • In Photos, tap a photo then tap Edit.
  • After that, tap  the Mark Up button
  • Annotate the photo using the available drawing tools and colors. Tap the Add Annotations button to magnify or add a caption, text, shapes, or even a signature.
  • Tap done to save edits.

Revert an edited photo

An edited photo can be reverted to the original image even after saving edits.

  • Open the edited image, tap Edit, and tap Revert to original.
  • the slider to fine tune to what you want.
  • Tap the effect button to switch between the edited and original effects.
  • Then tap Done to save your edits.
