It is heartbreaking when a loved one dies. After mourning their loss, your MTN sim card could have been registered in their names. You can not just leave it registered to the names of someone who has passed on.

Ideally, all our Sim Cards should be registered in our names using our National IDs. Such a scenario where someone who registered for you dies would not occur. But that is not always the case.
Gone are the days when only adults could use phones. These days, kids now use phones. Where do they get the Sim Cards to put in these phones? The adults in their lives register for them. Network Service Providers do not limit the number of Sim Cards you can register your names to only one. So you can have more than one registered Sim Card but not be personally using all of them.
I have registered over 3 Sim Cards for my brothers and sisters just because they lacked National IDs and I have one.
Anyways, how do you update your MTN sim card registration details in case someone who registered for you dies?
In case the person who has passed on leaves you in charge of his/her affairs, go to the MTN service center with the death certificate and letters of administration and submit a request to have access to the account or details updated.
