How to Turn on Google Assistant on your Android TV

Step 1: Turn on your Android TV

Plug your Android TV cable into power and then press the power button on your remote to turn on the TV.

Step 2: Launch Android TV Settings.

Press the Settings button on your remote or launch the home page by pressing the home button on your remote then select the ‘Settings’ app.

Step 3: Select Device Preferences

Under General Settings, select ‘Device Preference’.

Step 4: Choose Google Assistant

Scroll down and select ‘Google Assistant‘ then toggle on the service. Select ‘Continue‘ and allow Google Assistant to search across all your TV apps.

To initiate the Google Assistant, press the Google Assistant button on your remote or say “Hey Google” and then proceed with your query or your command for example: Hey Google, open the Netflix app.

How to Turn off Google Assistant on Any Android TV

1. Press the Settings button on your remote or launch the home page by pressing the home button on your remote then select the ‘Settings‘ app.

2. Under General Settings, select ‘Device Preference‘.

3. Scroll down and select ‘Google Assistant‘ then toggle off the service.
