Translate Text from Images with Google Lens on Android
This is how you can use the Google Lens app to translate text on Android phones.
- First things first, download and install the Google Lens app from the Play Store.
- Open the Google Lens app on your mobile phone.
- Scroll through the options and select “Translate” at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Camera icon to take a picture with the text that you want to translate. If you have taken the picture already, then click on the image icon to upload an image with the text you want to translate.
- Google will detect the language automatically and thus translate it as per the selected language in the picture.
- You can also opt to change the language of the text.

The steps below guide you on how to translate text from an image using Google Lens on an iPhone.
- Download and install the Google app from the App Store and open it. (The Google Lens app is not available on IOS)
- Click on the Google Lens icon. search bar, just beside the microphone icon.
- Scroll through the options and select “Translate” at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Camera icon to take a picture with the text that you want to translate. If you have taken the picture already, then click on the image icon to upload an image with the text you want to translate.
