Once you subscribe to Netflix streaming services, you will be required to enter billing details from which funds with be automatically deducted to support your subscription. Every 30 days from the time of your first subscription, Netflix will automatically deduct the service fee from your credit card. However, if your credit card balance is zero, Netflix will keep sending you notifications about the failed payment, if you wish, you can top up to avoid suspension from accessing Netflix content. In scenarios, where you are exhausted with auto-renewals of your Netflix subscription just because you do not use the service anymore or most probably you want to take charge of the billings at your own timing, then this guide will surely help you achieve that.

The giant streaming platform, Netflix does not provide a feature that allows subscribers to stop autorenewal or auto payments on their Netflix account. However, there is a way to go about this. All you need to do is cancel your Netflix subscription just after making a payment. Upon canceling your Netflix subscription, you will still have viewing access to Netflix content until the end of the current billing period. Follow the step-by-step guide to stop autorenewal/auto payments on your Netflix account.

Step 1: Start your preferred browser on your phone or your computer. Go to Netflix.com and sign in to your account. You can also use the Netflix app on your phone.

Step 2: Click on your Netflix profile. Once the profile is launched, tap on the dropdown arrow next to the profile icon/picture. If you are using the app, click on More at the bottom menu.

Step 3: From the displayed menu, select Account.

Step 4: The Account page will load. Under Membership and Billing, click on “Cancel Membership.”

Step 5: On the next page, Netflix will require you to confirm cancelation. Click on “Finish Cancellation” to proceed with canceling your Netflix subscription.

Step 6: A cancellation notice will be sent to the email address attached to your account and the same will be displayed on your screen affirming that your subscription has been canceled. Also, on the same page, Netflix will require you to select a reason for cancellation in order to improve services when you return back. Select all reasons that refer to your subscription cancellation then click Done. After that, you will be referred to the account page again. Under Membership and Billing, the feature which earlier displayed as “Cancel Membership” will now be “Restart Membership.” Always remember that Netflix subscription cancellation will be effective at the end of the current billing period. From then, you can always sign in to your Netflix account but you will be suspended from viewing Netflix content.

Therefore, anytime you are ready to renew and make the payment again for your Netflix account, you will have to go to netflix.com, sign in to your account, select profile(do not select kids profile), click on the drop-down menu, select Account, and under Membership and Billing, tap on “Restart Membership.” The Netflix account subscription will be continued immediately, and fees will be automatically billed off your credit card.

Quick Note: Netflix will automatically delete Netflix accounts 10 months after the membership has been canceled.
